About the Catana 521-2 piece
Catana's French yard in Canet-en-Roussillon produced the 521 from 1999 to 2003 with the same retractable daggerboards and infused composite build shared across the marque's range. It still draws less water and sails closer to the wind than fixed-keel cruising catamarans of comparable size, which is why owners keep refitting rather than replacing them.
