About the Catana 521-1 piece w/cutout
The 521 came out of Catana's Canet-en-Roussillon shipyard in France, built between 1999 and 2003 with the same retractable daggerboards and infused composite construction the marque is known for. Compared with fixed-keel cruising catamarans of similar size, it draws less water and points noticeably higher, which is why owners still bother refitting them for offshore work. Its raised helm and separated hulls remain true to Catana's original blue-water approach.
