ATN was founded in 1985 by Etienne Giroire, an offshore racer and maxi-boat skipper who has raced the OSTAR, the Whitbread, the BOC, and the Route du Rhum. He built the first modern spinnaker sleeve, and wrote many of the educational articles here, is still involved with ATN and continues to contribute here..
