About the Maine Cat 30
Maine Cat built the 30 in Bremen, Maine starting in 2001, with founder Dick Vermeulen putting all accommodations inside the hulls and leaving a large, uncluttered cockpit and trampoline area rather than an enclosed cabin between them. That open-bridgedeck concept, later carried into the larger 38 and 41 models, keeps weight low and shoal draft, both real advantages for owners maintaining an older performance cat. An estimated 20 to 50 were built, giving today's owners a workable, if small, pool of sister ships.
