About the Gunboat 48 Main
Gunboat's very first model, the 48, came out of South Africa in 2006 to a Morrelli & Melvin design, founder Peter Johnstone's opening move into carbon-fiber performance catamarans. It proved that a lightweight, fast-sailing cat could still offer real liveaboard comfort, a formula the brand carried into every later, larger model. With roughly six built, keeping one of these founding boats sailing means preserving a genuine piece of Gunboat history.
